Comedy Labs combines stand up classes and improv classes and creates a very uniquely styled workshop which is not to be missed. Many have come to our classes and been impressed by the passion and the level of depth of our training.

Meet Tom Short AKA Tim Shirt if we’ve remembered that correctly, trained as a comedic teacher at The University of Salford. He has helped many people go on to pursue their dreams in comedy. They look like a happy bunch don’t they ? They’re from the last cohort, you can be to if you join our next class in July here.
What’s going on here then? It looks like this may be out of an improv exercise included in the workshop. It’s all good fun down at the Comedy Lab. We have plenty of testimonials by participants who have been thrilled to be a part of this course. Many say that it is one of their more preferable experiences when it comes to these workshops. Therefore, once you have taken part in our work shops you will be able to showcase your skills in a venue that you are familiar with if you dare. Can I pay a deposit then pay the rest later ?
Yes, we do cater for this please just go to our evets page and you can see what offers we have.
Is is it a stand up class or improv ?
The two day weekend encompasses both elements as both areas compliment each other. Improv will help grow stand up routines and vice versa.
Is there any free taster sessions ?
No, however if you visit our social media page on Facebook you will see podcasts that discuss some comic theory.
Is there a showcase at the end ?
No we do not offer a direct showcase. However there is open mics held at the very same venue every Wednesday.
Where can we test what we have learnt ?
We hand out a Comedy Lab handbook which will tell you the best venues for open mics around the North West to showcase your stuff.

Tom Short (Left) set up the comedy lab. He is a multi-award winning experienced stage professional who works as an actor, writer and comedian.
Tom has been described as “Tommy Cooper-esque… Would give Les Dawson a run for his money”. North West End and an Edinburgh fringe veteran dubbed “[The festival’s] low key Keyser Soze”.
He set up Comedy Lab as he wanted to get more people involved. Furthermore, allowing various backgrounds to unlock their comedic potential.
